Mission and History
ICAN’s mission is to provide free, comprehensive programs that empower youth to be productive, self-confident, and responsible members of the community.
1991 – ICAN Founded by Henry Salinas
1991-1997 – After school programs offered at local elementary and Jr. High schools
1997 – ICAN moves into its first permanent home on Washington St.
2001 – ICAN grows to serve 25-35 youth per day
2010—ICAN receives national accreditation, is serving over 150 youth per day
2012 – ICAN moves into its current home after a $5 million capital campaign. ICAN is now able to serve 200 youth per day
