ICAN’s Pack-a-Backpack Drive Gives Over 200 Youth the Tools Needed for Academic Success

Although summer intersession just recently started at the new ICAN Lon E. Hoeye Youth Center, we are already planning how to send our youth back to school with the tools needed to succeed. Each year we hold our annual Pack-a-Backpack drive, engaging the community for support in providing backpacks and school supplies for underprivileged youth who might not have the resources to obtain all the necessities for academic success. This year the Chandler Compadres are returning as sponsors of the backpack drive. Last year over 200 backpacks full of supplies and shoes were distributed to ICAN youth. This year the Pack-a-Backpack drive will run July 1 – 19 and all backpacks/supplies will be distributed during an ICAN event on July 20!
