Family & Parenting

Parent and family-related factors are among the strongest predictors of academic achievement in youth.

ICAN’s Family Programs encourage parents to explore and strengthen family values, family bonding, and positive parenting skills to decrease family conflict. Parent programs allow parents to explore their discipline options, methods of building a solid support system in their home, and their family’s communication strategies. ICAN also provides a free and nutritious dinner to participating families in the parenting program.

Whatever you would have your children become, strive to exhibit in your own lives and conversation.- Lydia H. Sigourney
